I. Manufacturing Process

This aluminum alloy woodworking ruler is an L-shaped irregular measuring tool, integrating scale markings, positioning holes, and angle positioning structures. It needs to balance measurement accuracy, structural rigidity, and wear and drop resistance. The core process utilizes aluminum profile extrusion/sheet cutting + CNC precision machining + anodizing. The specific process is as follows:

1. Raw Material Selection: 6061-T6 aluminum alloy is selected (high strength, strong resistance to deformation, suitable for frequent use in woodworking scenarios); for better appearance and machinability, 6063 aluminum alloy can be selected, using thick-walled aluminum alloy sheets or custom-shaped profile blanks.

2. Blank Forming:

◦ Sheet Material Processing: The aluminum alloy sheet is cut into an L-shaped basic outline using laser cutting/waterjet cutting, with cutting tolerance controlled within ±0.1mm to reduce subsequent finishing allowance; thickened parts are formed by bending and welding, and stress relief treatment is performed after welding to prevent deformation.

◦ Profile Extrusion: For mass production, custom L-shaped profile extrusion dies are used to extrude an integrated blank, directly forming the reinforcing ribs and basic holes of the ruler body, reducing processing costs.

3. CNC Precision Machining:

◦ A three-axis CNC machining center is used to complete laser engraving/etching of scale lines, drilling and tapping of positioning holes, milling of angle positioning grooves, and chamfering and deburring of edges (rounded corner R0.5mm) to avoid scratches from sharp edges;

◦ A combination of precision milling and grinding is used on the measuring reference surface to ensure its flatness; the scale lines are laser-marked and filled with paint to make the scale clear and wear-resistant.

4. Surface Treatment:

◦ Red Hard Anodizing: The oxide layer thickness is controlled at 15~20μm, with a hardness ≥HV400, improving the ruler body's wear resistance (resisting impacts and friction in woodworking scenarios) and corrosion resistance (resisting sawdust and glue erosion from wood processing); the surface is sandblasted to create a matte texture, reducing reflection and facilitating reading.

◦ Scale Strengthening: The etched scale lines are filled with wear-resistant ink, and after baking and curing, the scale's wear resistance is enhanced, preventing blurring after long-term use.

5. Inspection and Calibration: Measurement accuracy is calibrated using a two-dimensional measuring instrument. The right-angle error and scale accuracy of the ruler are tested. A drop test (1.5m drop onto a cement floor) is performed on samples to verify drop resistance.

II. Processing Accuracy

This woodworking ruler is a precision measuring tool. Its accuracy must meet the dimensional and angle measurement requirements of woodworking. The core indicators are as follows:

1. Dimensional Accuracy:

◦ Scale error: ≤±0.1mm/100mm, ensuring accurate length measurement.

◦ L-shaped right-angle error: ≤0.05mm/100mm, ensuring accurate 90° angle measurement.

◦ Positioning hole diameter tolerance: H7 grade (+0.018/0mm), hole position accuracy ≤0.1mm, suitable for woodworking positioning pin assembly.

◦ Overall length tolerance of the ruler body: ±0.2mm, meeting the dimensional requirements of conventional woodworking measurements.

2. Geometric Tolerances:

◦ Flatness of the measuring reference surface: ≤0.05mm/100mm, avoiding gap errors during measurement.

◦ Perpendicularity of the two L-shaped arms: ≤0.05mm, ensuring the accuracy of right-angle measurements.

◦ Parallelism of the ruler body's reinforcing ribs: ≤0.1mm, improving the structural stability of the ruler body and preventing bending deformation.

3. Surface Accuracy:

◦ Measuring surface roughness Ra0.8~1.6μm, ensuring good fit with the workpiece being measured.

◦ Appearance surface (after anodizing) roughness Ra1.6~3.2μm, ensuring a smooth feel and visual quality.

◦ Scale line roughness Ra3.2μm, ensuring clear and non-flaking scale markings after paint filling.

III. Industry Applications

These aluminum alloy woodworking rulers, with their lightweight, high precision, and impact and wear-resistant properties, are primarily used in the woodworking industry, but can also be extended to decoration, handicrafts, and other scenarios, specifically as follows:

1. Woodworking Industry:

◦ Furniture Making: Used for measuring dimensions, right-angle positioning, and marking for solid wood and panel furniture. The aluminum alloy material is resistant to deformation, ensuring the accuracy of furniture assembly.

◦ Wood Carving: Small aluminum alloy woodworking rulers are suitable for precise measurement and angle positioning of small wood carvings. The lightweight design facilitates handheld operation.

◦ Woodworking Workshops/Factories: As a standardized measuring tool, replacing traditional wooden/steel rulers, their corrosion resistance and easy cleaning properties are suitable for workshop production environments.

2. Decoration and Construction Industry:

◦ Interior Decoration: Used for measuring dimensions and angles in woodworking ceilings and cabinet installations. The waterproof nature of the aluminum alloy body can withstand the humid environment of the decoration site.

◦ Door and Window Installation: Measures the right angles and dimensions of door and window openings to ensure compatibility between doors/windows and openings. The L-shaped structure facilitates quick positioning.

3. Crafts and DIY Fields:

◦ Handicrafts: Suitable for precise measurements in handmade woodcrafts and model making. The red anodized finish provides high visibility, and the clear graduations facilitate easy reading.

◦ Maker Workshops: Serves as a basic measuring tool in the design and processing of wooden maker projects, adaptable to the dimensional calibration of various small wooden components.

4. Industrial Auxiliary Measurement:

◦ Wood Product Processing Lines: Serves as an online inspection tool to quickly calibrate the dimensions and angle deviations of wooden products, improving production efficiency.

◦ Packaging Industry: Used for cutting and assembling measurements of wooden packaging boxes. The durable aluminum alloy body can withstand high-frequency workshop use.
